Un'occasione
unica e imperdibile per lavorare con uno degli interpreti più
prestigiosi del teatro internazionale su un testo "straordinario e
potente" di William Shakespeare: Misura per Misura. Il Globo Teatro Festival con
Bruce Myers promuove in Calabria un workshop di alta formazione per
attori professionisti, incentivando gli scambi generazionali nell'arte
drammatica.
"Tutti gli scolari inglesi imparano Shakespeare. Io non feci eccezione. All'università - Trinity College di Dublino, Irlanda - ho studiato letteratura: Shakespeare ancora. Non avrei potuto fare l’accademico, ma scoprii che potevo recitare. Ho lasciato l'università e sono andato, con una borsa di studio, per due anni al RADA (Accademia di Arte Drammatica): Shakespeare, di nuovo. Nel 1970 ho incontrato Peter Brook, e ho trascorso un po’ di tempo con lui - 40 anni, a Parigi e in tutto il mondo. Anche a lui piace Shakespeare. Quindi, ci sarà Shakespeare in tutti i miei seminari. In particolare, in questo, mi piacerebbe lavorare sulle scene di "Misura per Misura", un testo straordinario e potente. "All English schoolchildren learn Shakespeare. I was no exception. At university - Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland - I did literature: Shakespeare again. I could not be an academic, but I found I could act. I left university and went, on a scholarship, for two years at RADA: Shakespeare again. And in 1970 I met Peter Brook, and spent a little more time with him - 40 years in Paris and all around the world. He likes Shakespeare, too. So, there will be Shakespeare in all my workshops. In this particular one I would like to work on scenes from Measure for Measure, a terrifying and powerful play. In addition, for my own selfish reasons I would like to work on Jean Genet’s Les Bonnes (Le serve). I will direct it next year in Athens". Bruce Myers
